About me:

I am a PhD researcher at the University of Aberdeen studying predator-prey dynamics and spatial heterogeneity within the context of passive rewilding. After recently completing an MSc(Res) looking at the ways the ‘conservation value’ of Scottish forests is measured, I am interested in interdisciplinary research and understanding the complex social issues that can determine implimentation of conservation guidelines and policies.

I feel most at home amongs the trees in a forest and now get to try and understand various ecological processes within them. Additionally, I am committed to helping increase accessibility in conservation science and help provide career advice to aspiring conservationists. Articles on finding and applying for PhDs, ways to gain fieldwork experience and acquire ecological skills can be found here. I also document my research jounrey and the many things I am learning.
